Our Philosophy
All dogs are different, as are people. What works for one dog may not work for another. At Urban K-9, you and your dog will be evaluated to see what your goals are in training. What amount of work are you willing to put into the training? Do you just want your dog to learn basic commands? Or are you hoping to teach your dog a few new tricks? Depending upon your goals a customized training program will be created for you and your dog. The Urban K-9 obedience program builds a solid foundation for you and your dog. While tools for training may vary from dog to dog, all training focuses on reward and praise. Urban K-9 believes in balanced, fun training based on teaching the dog rather than forcing the dog.

About the owner
Dani provides private training and group classes for owners and their dogs. Dani studied the science behind how dogs learn and behave at the Triple Crown Academy for Professional Dog Trainers in Hutto, Texas. There she received her certification as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Prior to attending Triple Crown, Dani completed a course in dog training at The Academy of Canine Education, where she received training with dogs of many breeds and temperaments.

Dani is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and The Association of Pet Dog Trainers and she continues her education by attending workshops and seminars in dog behavior and training. She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and has spent the past 10 years working with animals in different capacities. Her animal jobs have included zookeeper, dog daycare supervisor, kennel worker, vet assistant and volunteering at the Brooklyn Aquarium.
